Crossover Assets™
Investing in Environmental Assets and Biodiversity

Timbervest’s experience in the timberland and rural real estate markets led to opportunities for investment in environmental markets and other related environmental assets. These often undervalued and overlooked environmental resources constitute a new asset class, which Timbervest has defined as “Crossover Assets™.” Timbervest’s Crossover Assets™ strategy works to identify appropriate opportunities and capitalize on their environmental attributes. This is generally accomplished through the creation of wetland and/or stream mitigation banks, habitat conservation banks or through implementing other ecosystem restoration projects that can enhance real estate value. Timbervest currently manages two investment portfolios with approximately $270 million dedicated to this emerging asset class. These portfolios include investments in multiple asset types in multiple geographic regions. Timbervest believes that this portfolio footprint positions the firm as one of, if not the largest investment manager in the Crossover Assets™ market, both in terms of assets under management and number of projects.
